The Rear brake lights &#039;&#039;&#039;and&#039;&#039;&#039; reversing lights are on the same fuse.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
If you find your reversing lights are not working or constantly on, your gearbox reversing switch has broken.&lt;br /&gt;

===Replacement===&lt;br /&gt;

I aquired my replacement switch at the scrap yard for £3 pounds.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Its the same switch in all the rover PG1 gearboxes.&lt;br /&gt;

Lotus Part Number: A111F6021S&lt;br /&gt;

Rover Part Number: CDU51A&lt;br /&gt;

It is a good idea to test the switch with an electric test meter, the switch completes the circuit&lt;br /&gt;

===Fitting===&lt;br /&gt;

Fitting the reversing switch is very easy, the hardest part is removing the rear and engine undertray.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
You may need to add or remove washers if the switch ends up always open or always closed when both in reverse and not in reverse.&lt;br /&gt;

The ignition switch can wear which can cause malfunction (e.g. no starter).&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

== S1 ==&lt;br /&gt;
The ignition switch used in the Elise S1 is like the rest of the steering column from GM/Vauxhall/Opel (e.g. Corsa B). The GM spare part number is 914852 or 90389377.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&#039;&#039;&#039;IMPORTANT!!! To remove/insert the ignition lock and/or switch ensure the key is inserted and is set to position I&#039;&#039;&#039; (key vertical and position where normally the radio is on but ignition is still off). On a 2004 111S, (and probably other years and models too), it has to be in position 2.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

# Remove the column shroud (7 screws and 1 nut for the trip switch)&lt;br /&gt;
# Insert key and set to position I (key must be vertical - see picture)&lt;br /&gt;
# At the front side (the side where the steering wheel is) of the outer barrel is a small hole. Press the short side of a small allen key into the hole (see picture). At the same time press the lock by the key towards the column and gently wiggle the lock until is comes loose. The lock is pressed out by spring tension.&lt;br /&gt;
